Hi, I’m Miriam. I assume you know that. If you don’t, HOW DID YOU FIND ME??
ANYWAY, I have been in the worst reading slump of my life for the past few months. I would like to tell you it’s been three, but I think really it’s been five or six, because I was definitely slowing down with reading in general and letting life stuff get me down. That’s not important now, though. What’s important now, is that this summer is going to be my summer of reading! I have created a challenge/goal thing for myself. I have 40 books on my physical TBR. (I HAD 38 so I used a gift card to even it out. You know, for reasons.) Here are the rules:
- I have to at least try every book on my physical TBR shelf (this is books I own physically, so it doesn’t include audiobooks — which I read regularly– or ebooks — which I simply don’t read).
- I am allowed to DNF if I’m not feeling it. I can DNF for now or forever, based on vibes.
- Every ten books I read means I am allowed to buy one new book. I can do it after each ten or I can bank them.
- I have to read every day. There is no set amount for how much. I’m gonna treat it like duolingo (IYKYK).
- If I don’t finish all 40 during the summer, I’m gonna keep going, blog title notwithstanding.
I’m officially starting this on June 1, because I have a different reading-based project to finish first.
Wish me luck, and feel free to check back here and see how I’m doing! It turns out I love an audience (this is surprising to no one who knows me).
